The Mitsubishi 3000GT never came with a targa top. There was a hardtop convertible sold in 1995 and 1996. You can find more info about that car and the rarity of it HERE. The upside of the Spyder is you push a button and the top goes up / down. The down side of that car today is the computer for the car is very old, very rare, nearly impossible to repair, and you have limited trunk space.
The vehicle you see here is very rare. It was modified by a welder by trade by using the top and roof from a Spyder. The roof was removed and the top was customized to be removed as a targa top does. The pros of a targa top are as follows:
More trunk space than a Spyder.
Unique look and very rare.
Additional reinforcement to frame (stronger than the Spyder).
